Vintage French Image

Hi my friends ~

Today I  want to share with you something so pretty, so french.

Thank you to Debbie from Confessions of a Plate Addict ~ she has posted her vintage french images ~ go here to learn how to create you own images  ~

http://confessionsofaplateaddict.blogspot.com/2015/03/decorating-with-vintage-french-images.html

I love the way they look in my Dining Room ~ since the furniture is french country, and the curtains & the seats are toile.  It just finishes the look of french country.

Thank you Debbie for your free print outs and directions.

Have a wonderful day.

Much love,

Rose

A Little Spring around the house

Hi Friends ~

Yesterday I went to Michaels.  So many things were on sale which was so good for me.

In my last post ~ I shared with you the pretty daisies that was given to me ~ I loved how they looked so I wanted to duplicate the look.

As I was walking around Michaels I saw this cute little mason jar perfect for the base. Right next to the little jars were clusters of flowers.  I purchased a cluster of pansies, and another cluster of small little yellow and white flowers.

I cut all the stems away from the cluster ~ which left me with 8 stems from each cluster.     I am working with 16 stems.

The mason jar was $3.49

The 2 clusters of flowers were $1.99 ea. ~ So for $7.50 I have flowers all spring & summer.

Here is the finished product.

I love how it came out ~

SPRING IT’S ON IT’S WAY

My dear friends~

Spring is on it’s way ~ we are starting to feel it more and more every day.

Yesterday it was 58 degrees ~ this is why I love March ~  you get those wonderful sneak peek of spring.

It’s been sunny for the past 1+ weeks, and it put you in the mood to start spring cleaning.  Pete & I have been sick on and off for the past 3 weeks, and yesterday we both starting feeling so much better.  As I was moving things around (oh that’s different for me) hahaha, I had so much energy & kept thanking God for giving me the strength to continue on.

It felt so good to work all day.

I have a few pictures of spring in the Russo home ~

Have a wonderful and blessed day.

Much love,

Rose

Balcony off Master Bedroom

Good Morning Friends ~

We are redoing our little balcony off the Master Bedroom –

My inspiration for the redo was when I saw this picture – I always thought the seating had to be side by side, but looking at this photo I realized this would work so much better on our small balcony.

Here is my inspiration - I always thought you had to put the chairs next to each other, but after seeing this picture I thought this would be so much better for our little balcony

We love having our first cup of coffee outside (when the weather is good) and in the evening a glass of wine together.

I researched small balcony furniture and came up with these

So here is the chair. We purchased 2 of them - no cushion - I have red & white stripe cushions from Pottery Barn

Sweet little table.
Sweet little table.

I’m excited to receive them, but there is so much snow right now that I will not be able to put them outside until April…

Stay tune to see what April will bring.

Have a wonderful day.

Wet Oatmeal Kisses

blue & white 6

Good Morning Friends ~

Today I would love to share with you something very special to me.  Our oldest (Kristin) gave me this one year (I believe she was in High School) for Christmas –

I was cleaning the space in which it sits, and started reading it once again.  It brought tears to my eyes, because it is so true.

If you are a new mom or a mom of many years, you both will enjoy it, because it’s from the heart.

ENJOY ~

~Wet Oatmeal Kisses ~

“The baby is teething; the children are fighting.  My husband just called and said to eat dinner without him.”  Okay, one of these days you’ll shout: “Why don’t you grow up and act your age!” and they will, or “You guys get outside and find yourselves something to do…. and don’t slam the door.” and they won’t.

You’ll straighten up their rooms neat and tidy….bumper stickers discarded….spreads tucked and smooth….toys displayed on the shelves…hangers in the closet….animals caged, and you’ll say out loud: “Now I want it to stay that way,” and it will…. You’ll prepare a perfect dinner with a salad that hasn’t been picked to death and a cake with no finger traces in it and you’ll say, “Now there’s a meal for company,” and you’ll eat it alone.

You’ll say, “I want complete privacy on the phone.  No dancing around, no pantomimes, no demolition screws. Silence! do you hear?” and you’ll have it.  No more plastic tablecloths stained with spaghetti, no more anxious nights under a vaporizer tent, no more dandelion bouquets, no more iron-on patches, knotted shoestrings, tight boots.

Imagine, a lipstick with a point, no babysitters for New Year’s Eve, washing clothes only once a week, no PTA meetings, carpools, blaring radios, Christmas presents out of toothpicks and paste.  No more wet oatmeal kisses.  No more tooth fairy, giggles in the dark, or knees to heal.

Only a voice crying, “Why don’t you grow up?” and the silent echoing, “I did.”

After spending the weekend with our girls, my heart is overjoyed seeing them together, how much they love each other, and how much respect is there ~

I had to say Goodbye again to our youngest (Alyson) sending her back to LA where she lives, my mind says go honey be well, be good, care for others like you would want to be cared for, be honest and trustworthy, but my heart says “Please stay”.

Kristin lives in Brooklyn and we are only 3 hrs by car, but every time I see her I am so happy to be in her company.  She shares her life with an amazing woman (Jenny)~they have been married for 1.5 years.  Their home is so inviting, I never want to leave.  I am so grateful they have each other.

I hope you remember when your children were so little, and everything seemed so crazy, and if you are in the crazy part of your life now ~ it goes so fast so enjoy every minute of them now.

Much love,

Rose
